Welcome one and all to the annual Praise Gathering, which has been a part of the programme of
the General Assembly during the Fall season for the past few years. During this Praise Gathering,
we will have ample opportunity to praise, for despite the pressures of life we have much for which to
give thanks and praise; for example God’s protection of us during the 2011 Hurricane Season, and
for sustaining our Islands’ economy during a time of global economic and social upheavals.

The General Assembly Council, Worship Leader Bro. Paul Roberts and his team (including the
combined Chapels choir & praise teams, and Triple C School), and our Executive Secretary
Sis. Marji Ebanks have developed an exciting programme of activities for this Praise Gathering.
Back by popular demand is the dynamic Pastor Troy Goode, who will be speaking on our theme
of Creating a Culture of Honour, with a relevant list of related topics. Our George Town Chap
el Youth Pastor Felix and his team of congregational Youth Leaders & volunteers are also to be
commended for delivering a fun and spirit-filled Youth Rally. We are delighted to have you worship
ping with us, whether it is at the Youth Rally, our Sunday services, or our services on Monday through
Wednesday evenings.

This year we are adding two new FREE and exciting events to the Praise Gathering: a Health & Wellness information booth and Screening, to take place on Sunday and Tuesday evenings before the services; and advice/legal guidance on preparing your Will, with hopefully your congregation, the General Assembly, or Triple C School as one of the Beneficiaries of your final Will & Testament. This session will take place at Wednesday’s service. The Bible says that “the Body is the Temple of the Lord”, and so we must protect our bodies so that we may be able to do God’s work and win souls for his Kingdom. In regard to your Will, the Bible commands us Christians to be good stewards of our Talents, including our finances. What will be your Legacy after you have passed on to your eternal home? How wonderful it would be for you to continue to serve with your earthly assets long after you have passed on. I thank the Health & Wellness Task Force and their volunteers, and past GA Chairman Bro. Orren Merren and his team of Church of God Chapel attorneys-at-law for offering their professional services to this worthy cause.

Crime is on the rise in our lovely Islands, and the General Assembly and your Senior Pastors have re-dedicated ourselves to the goal of giving our young citizens, and future leaders, a strong Christian, moral, and ethical foundation. A GA Task Force on Sunday School/Youth Programmes is presently at work on this important task. In this connection, a sound Christian education and character is imperative, and so I commend all of you to consider Triple C School for your youngster’s educational requirements. The faculty, staff, parents, students, PTA, Alumni Association, and Board, of Triple C School are all eager to have you join them!

Finally, in June Lovenia and I attended the North American Convention (“Camp Meeting”) in Anderson Indiana, for the first (but not the last) time, and we had a wonderful time. I encourage you to consider attending the Camp Meeting in June 2012, or the fantastic “Global Gathering” in June 2013. Visit the website www.cofgcga.ky for more details.

Enjoy Praise Gathering 2011, and may God richly bless you!
